Calling to memory the expression "when it rains it pours" and knowing that this phrase often proves true, was there any additional occurrence(s) during your abandonment ordeal that caused you to think you simply could not handle anymore bad news and/or grief or that you were just doomed to a fateful life of misery? Hmm, I have so much to say... I like the comment "abandonment by suicide" but that would be me doing the abandonment... I am trapped by this feeling of avoiding pain and have practically made myself house bound. I don't want to deal with the world anymore. I don't want people to care about because they always let me down and I know I have unrealistic fantasy's for how I think people should be... I'm in therapy but I hurt so much and am so immobilized by my own attempt to stay safe. I have to face this issue or expire. So, I guess my suggestion is a discussion about what to do when you can't take another blow in life... you're tired and convinced of your worthlessness and just can't muster the energy or courage to go back out and take the risk of another hurtful relationship.
